The wedding bells have rung for England’s ODI skipper Eoin Morgan. On Friday, he exchanged the marriage vows with his longtime girlfriend Tara Ridgway at the historic Babington House in Somerset. The couple looked stunning together as they emerged from the wedding chapel to a sea of sparklers held by family and friends.
Tara is a London based marketing coordinator for fashion house Burberry who first met Morgan when she was only 17 years old in 2010. The cricketer then was in Adelaide to take on Australia in the Ashes series and was only 24. He was yet to establish himself in the England set-up. But now the flamboyant left-hander is the leader of the ODI and T20I side and his team is the favourite to lift the World Cup which is set to take place in their own country.
Baz attends the glittering ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of only 130 guests according to a report in adelaidenow.com.au. Among those were the father of Tara David Ridgway who is a State Liberal Minister and the mother Meredith. Interestingly, Eoin Morgan’s close friend and the former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum was the main attraction at the event.
The likes of Alastair Cook, Jason Roy, Steve Finn, Mark Wood and Jos Buttler also graced their presence in the glittering ceremony. The pictures of the wedding were shared by the friends and family on social media with a funny hashtag “#morganhebargainedfor” which has left everyone splits.
Even Eoin Morgan himself was delighted to turn the new chapter of his life with Tara Ridgway. He announced the news of his marriage on his official Twitter handle.

Morgan’s next assignment
Eoin Morgan was recently involved in the ODI series against Sri Lanka which England won by 3-1 easily. He will enjoy some much-needed rest for the remainder of the year as England will be involved in the Tests against Sri Lanka and then against Windies. The Brits will now play the ODIs in February which will allow the left-hander to spend some quality time with his wife.
