Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Eoin Morgan made headlines as the KKR analyst Nathan Leamon held out placards in the encounter against Punjab Kings. To send a message to Morgan during the game, Nathan showed a cryptic ‘54’. However, not many fans were able to decode the message as they were left wondering about the same.

KKR’s opening batsman Nitish Rana finally broke his silence on the matter as he revealed that even the players weren’t able to decode what exactly the message was. Rana reckoned that the code-sharing is exclusive between Morgan and Leamon and the rest of the players are also trying to guess the same.

“No, that’s just between the captain and the analyst. Even we don’t know yet, we are also trying to figure out what it is,” said Rana as quoted by Sportskeeda.

KKR hasn’t experienced an ideal run in IPL 2021 thus far. They have won just two out of the six games played. Speaking about the same, Rana asserted that the tournament has reached the mid-phase and it will be really good for the team if they manage to win their next two to three games, on a trot.

I start every season on a good note but let myself down mid-season: Nitish Rana

“We have reached the mid-phase of the tournament and if we score 2-3 wins it will be great for us because the points table has been working like that as well. So, hopefully, we will win this game and come upwards on the table,” added the southpaw.

Rana started the tournament on a good note as he smashed back-to-back half-centuries. He is currently KKR’s top scorer in the tournament, with 188 runs across 7 games. However, after a stunning start, the batsman flattened in the last few games. When asked about his form, Nitish asserted that it has become a pattern for him to not score after a good start but he hopes to make a change this year.

“Absolutely, because I always start every season on a good note but let myself down mid-season. I will try not to allow it to happen this year because it has been repeating for the last 2-3 years. I want to make sure that I grow as a player and I will try to not repeat the same mistakes,” signed off Nitish Rana.
