There were some crazy scenes at Albrecht Oval in Alice Springs as South Australia’s Women’s team were bowled out for just 10 runs. The National Indigenous Cricket Championships is currently in progress which is the part of Women’s domestic cricket in Australia. The second round of the tournament saw South Australia and New South Wales lock horns. But the game ended only in 13.1 overs and a total of 12 wickets fell in the process.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, South Australia would’ve never thought they will get bundled out to the lowest total. Only four runs were scored off the bat and that too were by the opener F Mansell who faced as many as 33 balls. The rest of the nine batters registered a duck and six other runs ended up being wides. Extras top scored for the South Australian side.
Six batters saw their timber being disturbed as Roxsanne Van-Veen endured a memorable outing with the magical figures of 5/1 in her two overs. Also, the other bowler J Muir executed her skills superbly accounting for two scalps for just a couple of runs in her three overs. Eventually, the New South Wales skittled the opposition in the 11th over for just 10 runs.
NSW also lose two wickets in response
The chase wasn’t easy either for the New South Wales Women. Dimity Parton, the opener, bagged a golden duck. However, there was no repeat of the first innings this time. H Hoffmeister mustered three runs off eight balls before being dismissed with only a couple of runs needed for the victory.
Only two wickets fell eventually in the chase as the New South Wales clinched a huge victory with 103 balls to spare. N Woods remained unbeaten on three runs off seven deliveries as NSW Women claimed the four points which were up for grabs easily.
