Bradley John Hodge was born on December 29, 1974, Sandringham, Victoria. He attended St. Bede’s College in Mentone, Victoria.

He has represented Australia, Auckland, Barisal Burners, Durham, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Melbourne Renegades, Northern Districts, Rajasthan Royals, Victoria and Wellington.

3. Nick name:

He is known as Hodgey and Dodgeball by his fellow mates.

4. Victoria man:

He is Victoria’s highest ever run-scorer in the Sheffield Shield (10,474 runs).

5. First-class career:

In 223 matches, Hodge has scored 17,084 runs at an average of 48.81. He has been one of the most prolific player for Australia in the domestic circuit.

6. Ton man:

Hodge has notched up 51 centuries and 64 fifties in first-class cricket.

Hodge has notched up 6765 runs at an average of 37.17 and a strike rate of 131.46. He has also registered 45 fifties and a couple of centuries to his credit.

Brad made his Test debut against West Indies at Hobart in the year 2005. He batted in the first innings, scoring a strokeful 60, courtesy nine boundaries.

He represented Australia in only 6 Test matches. He scored 503 runs including a double century. His average stands at an impressive 55.88. He scored a vital 67 in his last Test match against West Indies in the year 2008. But he was dropped fom the squad and never went on to play again.

Hodge played 25 ODI’s and 15 T20I’s, scoring 575 and 183 runs respectively.

11. Unbeaten comeback:

Brad Hodge made 99 not out off 86 balls to steer Australia to victory against New Zealand on 4 February 2007, when he was called into the team because Andrew Symonds had pulled out with a torn bicep.

12. IPL delights:

Hodge was impressive playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders. For the fifth edition of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals later bought him for $475,000. His base price was $200,000.

13. Master stroke:

Brad Hodge played a match-winning innings of 54 runs not out off just 29 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 IPL. He helped Rajasthan to secure a berth at the second qualifier.

14. T20 Records:

He has scored 6765 runs in Twenty20 cricket and is the second highest run-scorer in the format. The Victorian has featured in 246 matches and has 2 hundreds and 45 fifties to his name in the format. Hodge has also struck 667 boundaries which is the most by a batsman in T20 cricket.
