In the past few months, the whole world is grappling with the adverse effects of COVID-19 outbreak. The pandemic has wreaked havoc across the globe and most countries are in a lockdown state to tackle the situation. So far, the world has witnessed over 3.6 lakh deaths due to the novel coronavirus and the pandemic, without a doubt, has taken a toll on human existence.

Amid these stern times, many cricketers have come forward to aid in the battle against the pandemic. While some have spread awareness on social media, some have raised funds or distributed ration among the poor and needy people.

One such cricketer who has been been working extensively amid the pandemic is South Africa’s Faf du Plessis. Du Plessis, along with his wife Imari, are doing their best to feed around 35,000 kids in their country who have been struggling during COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple has teamed up with the local community heroes to help provide nutritious meals to children during these trying times. Talking about the spread of coronavirus in the rainbow nation, South Africa has witnessed over 643 deaths so far and more than 30,000 people have tested positive.

Recently, Du Plessis, in an Instagram live with CSK, had heaped praise on MS Dhoni while saying that the Chennai franchise is not the same without ‘Captain Cool’. “MS walks off the field. Chennai is a different team. He has got such strong leadership in the group,” Du Plessis had said.
