Funny incidents have time and again surfaced on the cricketing field. While controversies have marred the game to a large extent, these funny moments come as a breath of fresh air. The joyful scenes also spice up the contest and add a humorous angle to proceedings. Something similar occurred during the opening Test between India and South Africa at the Newlands in Cape Town.

The incident occurred after Kagiso Rabada dismissed an ominous-looking Hardik Pandya for 93 runs. Rabada dished out a short-pitched delivery and Pandya slashed at it with all his might. However, to his dismay, he edged the cherry which nestled into Quinton de Kock’s webbings. It was a massive scalp as Pandya was gradually taking the game away from the Proteas.

The ‘Kiss of Love’

Faf du Plessis, the South African skipper, was delighted and he kissed the fast-bowler on the forehead. After the occurring, Twitter didn’t waste any time and dropped hilarious tweets. Du Plessis later uploaded the picture on his Instagram profile, following which Rabada came up with a hilarious reply. On a lighter note, Rabada expressed concerns over his girlfriend’s reaction.

South Africa have been clinical in their approach in the first Test. They stumbled at different stages but eventually managed to comprehensively brush aside the visitors. Both Francois du Plessis and Kagiso Rabada displayed prime form as their performances managed to get India on the mat.

The Proteas skipper notched an all-important century partnership with AB de Villiers when the hosts were tottering at 12/3 in the first innings courtesy Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s brilliance with the ball. Rabada was equally consistent with the ball and picked up five vital Indian wickets to dent the visitor’s chances of a victory. The second Test begins on the 13th of January at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
