Faheem Ashraf passes water bottle to thirsty fan during Pakistan National T20 cup

Southern Punjab and Central Punjab locked horns with each other in the Match 18 of the Pakistan National T20 Cup. However, amidst the match, something that caught the attention of the on-lookers is pacer Faheem Ashraf’s kind act. The match was been played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium wherein Central Punjab had elected to bowl first.

Whilst fielding in the match, the speedster was called by the fans in the stands. When the bowler looked up to them, the spectators asked him to pass a water bottle as they were thirsty. As per a video that went viral on YouTube, Ashraf picked up the water bottle that was there on the boundary and then threw it to the fans. Post receiving the water bottle, the spectators could be heard cheering loud.

Faheem Ashraf was awarded the Player of the Match

After having won the toss, Central Punjab had elected to field first. The decision went quite their way as the team was able to restrict Southern Punjab at just 119. Faheem Ashraf proved lethal with the ball as he removed both the openers Zeeshan Ashraf and Sohaib Maqsood for a duck in the very first over of the match.

The ball nipped back and caught an inside edge onto the stumps as Zeeshan departed. Whereas the pacer yet again struck in the same over with a good length ball which caught a thick outside edge of the batter and Kamran Akmal completed the catch behind the stumps. Southern Punjab was thus reduced to 2-1 as they found themselves in a spot of bother.

Agha Salman and Azam Khan then tried to hold the fort of the side as they stitched in a partnership of 84 runs. But once the partnership broke, the team experienced a batting collapse and could manage to post the target of only 120 runs as they were wrapped up in the 19^th over.

Chasing down the total, skipper Babar Azam exuded his sheer flair by registering an impressive unbeaten half-century to take the team past the total. Faheem Ashraf who bowled an outstanding spell wherein he scalped three wickets and conceded just 14 runs was awarded as the player of the Match.
