A loss in the World Cup is usually not quite acceptable. Especially, after the way India dominated in the league stages of the World Cup 2019, the fans expected them to finish at least as the runners-up. However, in the high-intensity semi-final against New Zealand, the Men in Blue couldn’t play the same brand of cricket. The aficionadi still seem to be fuming over this loss and absolutely lashed out at Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his latest Instagram post.

In the low-scoring game against the Kiwis that panned out over a duration of two days, the bowlers did well to restrict the opposition to a low score. Had the batsmen applied themselves slightly better, this target was easily chasable. However, the Indian top-order didn’t have any answers to the New Zealand bowlers’ onslaught.

India lost the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul quite early in the chase. Thus, they were reduced to 5/3 subjecting the middle order to great pressure. Even though Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni tried hard, the team still fell a few inches short of the target. Since then, there have been various opinions about this loss. The person who took the centre stage was none other than Virat Kohli.

This is the second ICC tournament loss under Virat with the earlier one being the Champions Trophy 2017. Thus, there have been demands that he should be sacked as the skipper in white-ball cricket.

Now, the last promotional post of Instagram by the 30-year-old has further intensified these demands. Fans brutally trolled him that he never won a World Cup or the IPL. Moreover, they didn’t like the idea of him going to the West Indies to play all the three formats of the game. While a few fans asked him to focus on the middle order issues instead, a few others adviced him to resign and hand the captaincy over to Rohit Sharma.

Here is how the fans reacted to the Instagram post-
