He has scored across formats and in almost all the parts of the world with unprecedented consistency. He made his debut for India in 2008, just a few months after leading India to glory in the ICC U19 World Cup.

So far, he has represented the country in 248 ODIs, scoring 11,867 runs with the help of 43 tons, the second-most in the format. He made his Test debut in 2011 and has played 86 games so far.
