Fans rage on Twitter over Rishabh Pant's non-selection in the India T20 squad

They found it unbelievable that a player like Pant failed to find a place in the Indian T20I squad.

Rishabh Pant played a sensational inning yesterday. While his knock didn’t ensure Delhi Daredevils’ victory, he surely created an enigma and instantly became the talk of the town. After his team was reduced to 43/3, his fantastic century took the hosts to a formidable total of 187/5.

An astounding inning of 128 runs from just 63 balls, Pant hit 15 boundaries and seven sixes. He singlehandedly recovered DD from the early slump and took them to a respectable total. The highlight of his innings was the last over where he took Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the cleaners, scoring 26 runs in an over.

With 521 runs in the tournament so far, he also holds the Orange Cap currently. The 20-year-old has also hit 27 sixes this year which is the joint highest alongside CSK skipper MS Dhoni. He had three half centuries this season prior to the onslaught against Sunrisers.

However, the DD bowlers failed to do justice to Pant’s valiant effort with the bat. They couldn’t defend a total of 187 as Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson batted stupendously. Both combined for an unbeaten partnership of 176 runs as the table toppers won it by 9 wickets.

Many players lauded Pant’s magnificent innings despite the team’s loss. On the other hand, fans were literally disappointed when they realized that this guy wasn’t a part of any of the Indian squads that will travel to England and Ireland. They raised their voices on Twitter against the selection committee led by MSK Prasad.

The fans expressed their anger. They found it unbelievable that a player like Pant failed to find a place in the Indian T20I squad. The 20-year-old has often been looked up as a future prospect for the Indian cricket team. Hence, a few objections were expected.
