This Fantain Fantasy guide is for the sixth and final ODI between South Africa and India at the Supersport Park in Centurion. India have already won the series after a victory in Port Elizabeth and now have a 4-1 lead. They’ve performed exceptionally well in this series and more so the young wrist-spinners who have bamboozled the opposition with their bowling. The top-order batsmen are in great form as each one of them have scored centuries and they would be expecting to end the series on a high with yet another big score.

South Africa, on the other hand, have immensely struggled against the spinners and injuries to key players hasn’t helped their cause either. Though they’ve fought their way and managed to win the fourth match thereby staying alive in the series. But things didn’t go their way again in the very next ODI and lost the match as well as series. Now they will be playing for pride in the final game and put up a good show ahead of T20I series.

They will have to improve their performance against the spinners of India and if that happens, we might be in for a cracker of a contest in the dead rubber. Now let us come to the point:

South Africa vs India:

Batsmen

Now while picking the batsmen, we have to take care that at least a couple of openers are picked as they are the ones who can play big innings. So I am going with Rohit Sharma and Hashim Amla who came back in form in the last game itself and are likely to continue in the same flow with no pressure on them of winning or losing the series. Even Shikhar Dhawan could be picked instead of Rohit but I can’t pick both at a time as there will be a budget issue going forward.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers walk into any fantasy side given their reputation with the bat. They click for their respective teams more often than not and are due for a big score in the final game of the series. So these are my four batsmen in the lineup.

Wicketkeeper

Heinrich Klaasen is the perfect choice for this position as he is a budget pick as well. His skills behind the wickets are good and more importantly has scored runs coming down the order for his team. His last two outings for South Africa were decent and is looking in good form. MS Dhoni can’t be picked here as he comes down the order to bat and is less likely to get many deliveries to face given the form of India’s top order.

All-rounders

Now here I have many options as India will look to test their bench strength and Axar Patel can play in Centurion. But I can’t select him in the team as he will get barely get to bat. JP Duminy and Hardik Pandya are the good picks here as the former bats at number 3 and also bowls a few overs for his captain. Pandya picked key wickets in the last match and there is a possibility that he might also bat well without pressure.

Bowlers

India is likely to play Mohammed Shami in this game and rest Bhuvneshwar Kumar as he has struggled to pick wickets in this series. So he will be my surprise pick as many will not pick Shami and the number of points he will collect will be an added advantage for me. Jasprit Bumrah has to be there in any fantasy team given that he bowls at the death and will have more chance to pick wickets as well.

Now I have to pick between Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav and I will go with the latter as Chahal hurt his finger while fielding in the last game. So he might be rested and we can’t take the risk by including him in the XI. One fast bowler from South Africa has to be picked among Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada and Morne Morkel. You can pick any one of them as there is no budget problem here as well. I am going with Ngidi based on his performance in the last game and he will definitely play.

So here’s my final Fantain fantasy XI for the game:
