Dhaka Dominators (DD) will be facing Khulna Tigers (KHT) in the third match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2023 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday. Dhaka Dominators finished the last season in the fifth position with four wins from the ten group-stage matches. Last season's top scorer Tamim Iqbal and the leading wicket-taker Andre Russell have left the team. However, they signed star pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam to boost their squad.

Khulna Tigers finished the group stages in the fourth position in with five wins from ten group-stage fixtures but lost in the Eliminator fixture against Chattogram Challengers. They have signed the star Pakistani cricketers Naseem Shah, Wahab Riaz, and Fakhar Zaman and Sri Lanka's limited-over captain Dasun Shanaka. However, Naseem and Shanaka are not available for the opening few matches due to their international involvement.
