Chattogram Challengers (CCH) will lock horns with Fortune Barishal (FBA) in the Eliminator match of the BPL 2024 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 26. Chattogram Challengers and Fortune Barishal finished the league stage with similar track records with seven wins from 12 games and being in third and fourth place.
Chattogram Challengers had played against Khulna Tigers in their last encounter where Chattogram Challengers won the toss and elected to bat. After a shaky start, the Challengers went from one level to another as they kept having fantastic partnerships. Tanzid Hasan was the highlight of the match as he smashed a ton and took his team to 192. Tigers too had a similar start as they lost an early wicket but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were bowled out for 127 and hence they lost the game by 65 runs.
Fortune Barishal had played against Comilla Victorians in their last encounter where Fortune Barishal won the toss and elected to bowl. On a low-scoring pitch, Victorians tried starting cautiously but still kept losing wickets. Jaker Ali played a handy knock down the order where he smashed 38 off just 16 deliveries as his team went to a total of 140. Barishal did lose a wicket early but they did not turn back from there. Skipper Tamim led from the front with his knock of 66 as his team won the game by six wickets.
