Jaffna Kings had squared off against Colombo Strikers in their last encounter, where Colombo Strikers won the toss, and they elected to field. Kings started off well and maintained a healthy run rate. The middle order did the heavy lifting, scored the bulk of the runs, and posted a strong total of 173 runs on the board. Matching their opponents, Strikers had a good start as well but then were pulled back as they lost two wickets in quick succession. Niroshan Dickwella stood tall from one end but lost partners from the other, and the team was bowled out for 152. Jaffna Kings won the match by 21 runs.
Dambulla Aura had played against Galle Titans in their last match, where Dambulla Aura won the toss and elected to field. The Titans had a rather slow start but picked up pace in the middle overs. Captain Shanaka also provided them with a fantastic finish which was needed, and they ended up scoring 180 runs on the board. Dambulla did not start well but made a strong comeback. The match got very interesting in the end, and it ended up in a tie. Titans claimed the match in the super over and emerged victorious.
