Germany will take on Austria in the fifth match of the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2023 on Friday (July 21) at the Goldenacre in Edinburgh. It will be the second game of the tournament for both teams.

Scotland dominated the game right from the word go and collected 65 runs in the powerplay. The opening duo of George Munsey and Ollie Haris added 73 runs for the first wicket. Haris, along with Richie Berrington, played a crucial role in the middle overs, while Michael Leask provided the finishing touch with his knock of 38 runs off 14 deliveries. Scotland posted 234 runs for the loss of five wickets on the board, their second-highest total in T20Is. Germany had to chase 138 runs to win the game in 11 overs, as per DLS. The batters couldn’t do much against the experienced Scottish bowlers and could only score 65 runs for the loss of seven wickets and lost the match by 72 runs.

Both teams have played a total of five games against each other. Germany have won four out of these matches. Both teams played two T20Is this year in the Netherlands, and Germany won both.
