They posted a huge total of 237 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored half-centuries and were well supported by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The Proteas bowlers had an off day as none of the pacers managed to take a wicket and bowled at an economy of over 12 runs per over.
South Africa lost two wickets in the second over and it looked like they might succumb under pressure.
