They started well with their openers looking in good touch and scored 49 runs for the first wicket. They even had a good second-wicket partnership but could not carry on with that base already. By the end of the innings, they could only score 146 runs. Similar to their opponents, Rawalpindi started well and had a good opening stand of 55 runs. Although they did lose a couple of wickets in the middle overs, they overcame well and won the match by five wickets.

Abbottabad played against Peshawar in their last match, where Peshawar won the toss and elected to bat. The decision proved to be a masterstroke as their batters had a wonderful day. Not just they were in good touch, but scored at a brisk pace as well. With a couple of half-centuries, they posted a huge total of 195 runs on the board. Abbottabad batters looked a bit rusty and were not able to find boundaries regularly. They had a good partnership for the fourth wicket, but no other significant partnerships were achieved. They eventually lost the game by 21 runs.
