Luxembourg had played against Switzerland in their last encounter, where Switzerland won the toss and elected to bowl. Luxembourg lost their first wicket on duck and were too cautious after that. Shiv Gill did play a good knock but was not provided with any help from the other end. They could only manage to score 118 runs for the loss of eight wickets which was a below-par total. Switzerland had no problems chasing down such a total. The second-wicket partnership of 83 runs proved to be the match-winning. Switzerland won the match easily by eight wickets with more than four overs to spare.
