South Africa (SA) will lock horns with West Indies (WI) in the first Test Match of the West Indies tour of South Africa at the Super Sport in Centurion from February 28. South Africa have not been doing well in recent times, as they have not won even one of their last five Test matches. They managed to draw their last game, though. On the other hand, West Indies have a better record as they have won two of their previous five matches. South Africa in their home pitches will be a tough fight for the West Indies.

South Africa squared off against Australia in their last encounter, where Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Australia batted brilliantly, with Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja scoring their respective centuries, with the latter remaining not out at the individual score of 195. Australia posted a total of 475 for the loss of four wickets and declared their innings. South Africa would have hoped for a similar performance but got bowled out for a score of 255 and were asked to follow-on. In the third innings, they managed to score 106 runs for the loss of two wickets, and the match ended in a draw.

West Indies faced Zimbabwe in their last match, where Zimbabwe won the toss and they elected to bat. Things didn’t fold as per their plans, as they kept losing regular wickets. Zimbabwe could only manage to score 115 runs in their first innings where Gudakesh Motie took seven wickets. West Indies then came out to bat and posted a decent total of 292. Zimbabwe were thrashed again in their third innings as they were bowled out for 173. Motie again took six wickets in this innings, taking his total to a staggering number of 13 wickets in a single match. West Indies won the game by an innings and four runs.
