Scorchers chased down the target of 102 runs in 13.5 overs and won the match by seven wickets.

The Hurricanes took on Sydney Sixers in their previous game and elected to bat after winning the toss. Caleb Jewell emerged as the highest scorer with 42 runs off 24 deliveries. He was the only batter who managed to go past the 20-run mark. Hurricanes scored 135 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. The Sixers won the match by six wickets in 19.2 overs. Corey Anderson was the most successful bowler for the Hurricanes and took two wickets for 10 runs in 3.3 overs.
