Sharks XI will lock horns with Panthers XI in the 9th match of the Pondicherry T20 Tournament 2023 at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground in Puducherry on July 3. Sharks XI have won and lost a match each and are at the second position. Panthers XI, on the other hand, have won their only match so far and are third in the rankings.

Sharks XI  had played against Tuskers XI in their last match where Sharks XI won the toss and elected to bat. Sharks started off very slow although they were not losing too many wickets. Their middle order scored some runs which put them up to a decent total of 111 runs on the board. Naman and Karthik had scalped three wickets each in the process. Tuskers were off to a horrible start to their chase as they had lost five wickets while just scoring 20 runs. Fabid Ahmed took the charge for his team and scored a fantastic unbeaten half century and helped his team chase the total and win the match by three wickets.
Panthers XI had squared off against Lions XI in their last match where Lions XI won the toss and elected to field. Due to the rain, the match was reduced to 16 overs per side. Panthers started brilliantly after being put to bat with their opener Yash Jadhav scoring the most runs in the match (66). Credit to his innings, Panthers posted a decent total of 134 runs on the board. Lions lost a wicket early, but were decent otherwise. Several of their batters got starts but none of them converted into bigger totals which proved to be an issue for them as they lost the match by nine runs.
