A decent second-wicket partnership and a brilliant third one between Haider Ali and Wayne Madsen helped Derbyshire reach a decent total. No other batter from the team could perform on the day, and the team posted a total of 166 runs on a good batting wicket. A knock of 81 runs off 57 balls from Dawid Malan was enough for Yorkshire to reach the total with almost two overs to spare. He was adjudged Player of the Match for his knock, and his team won the match by seven wickets.
