Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has revealed that English cricketers praise his team’s bowling attack as the best in the world. Pakistan currently boasts of the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan and all of them will be in action, in the upcoming ODI series against West Indies starting from June 8. The players of the home team are busy in the conditioning camp organized by PCB at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore ahead of the series.

Coming back to Rizwan, he was recently playing for Sussex in the County Championship where he came across some of the England cricketers praising Pakistan’s bowlers. Pakistan has always had a history of producing some of the fastest and best bowlers with Shaheen Afridi currently leading the pack with his exceptional show across all formats.

“Our bowling attack is the best in the world. It feels really great when I hear some English players praise our bowlers,” Rizwan said while speaking on the sidelines of a conditioning camp in Lahore, according to The News.

Hot weather is not an excuse for us, says Rizwan

Like India, even Pakistan is currently experiencing a heat wave which is expected to trouble the players during the upcoming ODI series. The three-match contest was recently moved to Multan due to political reasons. Excessive heat is one of the reasons why PCB has decided to shift the timing of matches to 4 PM local time (4:30 PM IST). However, for Rizwan, heat shouldn’t be an excuse for players as they are professionals and have been playing in different conditions throughout their careers.

“The weather is hot without a doubt but it is not an excuse for us, we have been playing in different challenging conditions since Under-19,” the 30-year-old added. During Rizwan’s time with Sussex last month, he shared the dressing room with India’s Cheteshwar Pujara who was in great form churning out runs for fun.

Speaking on the association with the latter, Rizwan praised Pujara for his efforts and also stated that he learned a lot from him. “I talked to Pujara regarding cricket in the County Championship and learnt a lot of things from him,” he stated.
