Cricket is a funny game they say. Aaron Finch realized that today. The Australian didn’t feature in Gujarat Lions’ away game against Mumbai Indians, which the former lost by 6 wickets. Most people thought that Finch had picked up an injury or fell ill but it turned out that Finch was fit for the game.
He wasn’t dropped either. He was unavailable for the game because his kit bag didn’t arrive from Rajkot, where the side registered their first victory of the season on Friday. Finch couldn’t do much about this issue and was forced to sit out as he didn’t even have his clothes with him.
Just to clear things up, I didn't play the game today because my kit bag never arrived in Mumbai from our last match.

No kit bag = No bats, no playing equipment at all, no shoes, playing clothes etc!!

Finch, who bats in an unfamiliar position for Gujarat, hit the ball well in the 7-wicket win against Rising Pune Supergiant. He remained unbeaten on 33, which came off just 19 balls when the last runs were knocked off. In fact, Finch himself scored the winning runs when he hit consecutive sixes off Lockie Ferguson. Both were huge strikes as Finch hit them right from the center of his bat.
McCullum was quick to pick up on Finch in a friendly jibe. The Kiwi tweeted that he thought his omission was for not hitting those two sixes long enough.
Oh i thought it was cos your 2 previous deliveries u only hit them 90m! Ahahahaha! https://t.co/aY18Km31nY

Gujarat Lions played a night game on Friday and a day game today so there wasn’t much time in between both games which might have made it difficult for the authorities to send Finch’s kit before the start of today’s game.
The Lions couldn’t put up a good show against a resurgent Mumbai Indians side as the home team successfully chased down a stiff target of 177. Their poor showing this season is largely due to a below average effort with the ball. Suresh Raina has looked to strengthen the batting department in order to make up for the average bowling. It hasn’t seemed to work for them so far and they quickly need to turn things around before it is too late.
