Virat has been a successful leader for the Indian team, but having a close look at his captaincy style one can easily find out that he follows a set pattern in every game. In international ties, the quality players are able to repeat their magic on a regular basis but in IPL some of the domestic players will be inconsistent in their trade. Virat loves to use winning formula, but at some point, the opposition teams will work out the equation.

Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties, and that’s why sometimes instinctive decisions may turn out be defining moments of a match. During the powerplays in the semi-final against CSK, Rohit chose to bowl spinners which paid dividends as the opposition lost the plot in the first six overs of the game.

In a similar situation against Mumbai, Virat was confused and took the advice of their bowling coach, Ashish Nehra who prompted him to go with Pawan Negi in the 19th over against Hardik Pandya. The spinner leaked 22 runs in the over which cost RCB the game but initially, he was going to bowl Saini and he didn’t trust his own decision.
