For the time being, KL Rahul wants to focus only on the IPL 2019

KL Rahul is an enigma for the entire cricketing world. The 26-year-old Rahul has been one of the most backed Indian cricketers that have constantly received chances despite continued failures. Rahul was recently seen playing for India in the limited-overs series against Australia.

He was also amidst the storm of the Koffee With Karan controversy along with Hardik Pandya as their comments on the show had them suspended from the team and had to face scrutiny on social media. Currently, he will be seen playing for the Kings XI Punjab team in the IPL 2019 season.

Kings XI Punjab will be seen taking on Rajasthan Royals in their first match of the IPL 2019 tournament on March 25 and Rahul is expected to repeat his performance from 2018 IPL season. Rahul had smashed 659 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 158.4 last season including a record 14-ball fifty.

KL Rahul is one of the contenders for the no.4 spot in the Indian batting lineup for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 and IPL 2019 is kind of an audition for all contenders of the team and Rahul is expected to do well.

However, KL Rahul is more focused on the assignment at hand and is not thinking about World Cup selection. “I just want to focus on IPL and try and win as many matches for my team. I don’t set personal goals,” Rahul was quoted by Timesnownews.com.

“I have played with Gayle for quite a while, we had an opportunity to bat together for a few years in RCB and he considered me as a 21-year-old boy. I have learned a lot from him. I love his company. Each year as he grows older, his energy is getting more and more exciting for us. I am looking for more and more partnerships together,” Rahul further said.
