Former India cricketer Arun Lal will be tying the knot with his long-time friend Bulbul Saha, a teacher by profession, on May 2, 2022, in a private ceremony. Lal is currently the coach of the Bengal Ranji team, and the 66-year-old has been in relation with Bulbul for a long period now.

Reports suggest that Lal got engaged to 38-year-old Bulbul a while back, and the two will be making it official next month. Lal parted ways with his first wife Reena after the two mutually agreed to get a divorce. But because of her illness, Lal has been living with her for quite some time now. It is also said that the two will be taking care of the ailing Reena post their marriage.

The report by News18 Bengali also stated that the former cricketer took consensus from his first wife, and took the decision only after she agreed to it. A picture of their official invite to their wedding ceremony has gone viral on the internet, which suggests that the two will be tying the knot at Peerless Inn in Kolkata.

Players from the domestic circuit, who used to play with Lal during his days of cricket, and officials of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) are said to be invited to the wedding, alongside his family members and other close friends.

Lal is the coach of the Bengal Ranji team that made it into the knockout stage this year

Arun Lal was a regular face behind the mic in the commentary panel in both domestic and international games until 2016, when he was diagnosed with jaw cancer. But even after his illness, he has emerged as one of the most successful coaches in the nation.

There has been a significant, and remarkable improvement in the Bengal Ranji team’s performance since he took over the coaching duties of the side. After a 13-year hiatus, the Bengal team returned to the final of the Ranji Trophy under his guidance. Even this year, they qualified for the quarterfinals by amassing 18 points in the group stage, the highest in the competition.
