Thami Tsolekile the former South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman continues to bring a bad name to the sport in the country. After having been banned from the game for 12 years on being booked for attempting to fix a RamSlam T20 2015 match Tsolekile has now been arrested on the charges of assaulting a 14-year-old minor boy at Cape Town, near Pinelands High School.

The cricketer has denied all the charges and in fact alleged that the boy had pelted stones at his car. According to the report published by cricbuzz.com he was charged with common assault and was presented in a local Court while he was arrested on September 8.

In his match fixing involvement, Tsolekile is reported to have been paid at least R75,000 during the RamSlam 2015, the premier South African domestic T20 league to influence the outcome of a match.

He was the skipper of the Highveld Lions team and if the fixing charges were to be proved he was in for a five-year ban. There was also a possibility of criminal charges under the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act since it also contains a clause for sporting events. The law was passed in South Africa in 2004, four years after former skipper Hansie Cronje was handed a life ban for allegedly agreeing to underperform in a match against India.
