Friend, brother and legend - Hardik Pandya in complete awe of MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is 37 years old and at an age when most of the cricketers contemplate hanging their boots from playing cricket, MSD is ageing like fine wine. Like other players, even he has had his ups and downs, but he has shown a lot of character and picked himself up from the pits every other time. Regarded as the ‘best finisher’, he doesn’t seem to give up the ghost any time.

Quite expectantly, the Jharkhand-born wicketkeeper is an inspiration to many. He doesn’t only have admirers from India but from every nook and corner of the cricketing fraternity. Many budding cricketers also look up to the experienced campaigner for inspiration. Recently, Hardik Pandya, the 25-year-old all-rounder showered praises on the legendary figure.

The Baroda cricketer took to Twitter, uploaded a picture along with Dhoni. Moreover, he captioned the picture and wrote, “My inspiration, my friend, my brother, my legend @msdhoni

A happy day for Hardik

Hardik has every reason to cheer as his team Mumbai Indians (MI) qualified for the Final of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise, captained by Rohit Sharma, defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the third consecutive time this season. Suryakumar Yadav’s 71 off 54 balls with 10 boundaries helped Mumbai get over the line at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

As far as Hardik is concerned, he bowled only a couple of overs, conceding 13 runs. During the run-chase, he came to bat when MI needed 31 runs off six overs. Hardik ended with 13 off 11 with one four. Mumbai tracked down the target with nine balls to spare. On the other hand, CSK and Dhoni have plenty of work to do as the team now goes to play the second Qualifier on Friday, May 10.
