Gautam Gambhir gives a brutal response to Shahid Afridi over Kashmir tweet

Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is renowned for his direct and open remarks on the trending issues. Gambhir recently made a severe remark on the tweet posted by former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. Afridi had condemned India and blamed the nation for the widespread violence in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The debate on Kashmir has always been a thorn between India and Pakistan. And the most recent post of Afridi has only added fire to the existing heat. Recently, cases of civil clashes including the stone pelting on the Indian army emerged in the state. In a recent update, over 50 people were injured in such clashes.

With this backdrop, Shahid Afridi urged the UN to come and intervene in the issue. He wants the UN to intervene and take a decisive stance in the favor of Pakistan when it comes to the Kashmir issue. Furthermore, Afridi went on to quote Srinagar and the adjoining places as ‘India occupied Kashmir’. The fans were miffed with his tweet.

Now, Gautam Gambhir has taken to Twitter to slam Afridi for his tweet. He shared a very brutal response to the tweet. He went on to mock the vocabulary of Afridi and called it ‘retarded’ as well. Certainly, Gambhir was in no mood to settle down easily in this regard.

It is worth noting that Gambhir is a proud patriot and has always come out in support of the Indian army. He is known for his active stance in favor of the armed forces. And this response only adds another such instance to his support for the defence services. Also, Shahid Afridi has never been on good terms with Gambhir. Last year, he had remarked that all Indian cricketers are friendly except Gambhir.
