Neeraj Chopra of Haryana scripted history in the context of India in the Olympics as he went on to grab the first-ever gold medal for India in track and field events. It has to be noted that Chopra was lauded by one and all in the nation and the cricket fraternity also came in line to congratulate the only Indian gold medalist at Tokyo 2020.

In the same context, a tweet by Harbhajan Singh has turned the attention of Gautam Gambhir when Singh added that Neeraj’s victory is greater than the win of the 2011 World Cup. India scripted history in 2011 when they bagged the World Cup under MS Dhoni’s captaincy and it came only after Kapil Dev’s 1983 one.

However, Gambhir added that Singh shouldn’t have said like this because he himself was trolled sometimes back for calling Indian men’s hockey achievement bigger than the 2011 WC. “True that @harbhajan_singh But You shouldn’t have said this! You should not say this You shall never say this!” tweeted Gambhir.

Talking about India’s run at Tokyo 2020, it came as their best ever as they grabbed seven medals in the mega event. Two silver medals, four bronze, and one gold medal came into India’s account as the Tokyo 2020 concluded. India’s journey began when Mirabai Chanu grabbed a silver for India in the weightlifting events and ace shuttler PV Sindhu went on to grab a bronze after it. However, another silver was added by Ravi Kumar Dahiya.

Neeraj Chopra’s victory towards the end of the Tokyo 2020 came as a historic one as Indian won its first-ever gold in the track and field events. On the other hand, Bajrang Punia also grabbed a bronze medal for India towards the end.

Ultimate glory came in for India when the men’s team got a bronze medal after a drought of more than four decades. It has to be noted that several organizations have already announced big prize money for the Tokyo 2020 medalists of India wherein Chopra leads the way.
