The relation between Gautam Gambhir and Pakistan is now well known to everyone associated with cricket or politics. The former India opener, who stepped into politics earlier this year, just cannot waste a single opportunity to take a shot at Pakistan. Gambhir remained absolutely fired up when India faced Pakistan during his playing days and not much has changed even after his retirement.

The World Cup-winner just enjoys taking a dig at Pakistan or slam them. Whether it is his war of words with Shahid Afridi on Twitter, condemning Pakistan for cross-border terrorism or taking dig at Pakistani politicians, the BJP MP never shies away from getting himself involved in matters related to Pakistan. And Gambhir is at it again as he has take yet another shot at the neighbours.

Gambhir, on Monday, took to Twitter to take a sly dig at Pakistan’s safety measures for the Sri Lankan cricket team. Pakistan have provided the highest level of security to the visitors in order to make sure nothing unwanted takes place. And he was pretty amused with it as he said the country forgot about Karachi while speaking so much about Kashmir. Gambhir posted a video clip on Twitter where the security level could be seen.

In recent times, the bilateral relation between India and Pakistan has further deteriorated. In August, India abrogated Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. While India have maintained that it was their internal matter, Pakistan have continued to whine over it. The political tension has further worsened the cricketing ties between the two arch-rivals.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka

Pakistan, meanwhile, celebrated the return of ODI cricket in their backyard with an impressive win over Sri Lanka. After the first game was washed out, the hosts beat the Islanders by 67 runs in the second game. Pakistan now have an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Pakistan’s batting mainstay Babar Azam once again stole the limelight.

Babar Azam scored the 11th ton of his career to help his country put up a mammoth total of 305 for 7. In reply, Sri Lanka recovered from 28 for 5 to 238 all out inside 47 overs. Usman Shinwari starred with the ball, picking up five wickets for 51 runs from his ten overs.
