Indian international Gautam Gambhir took to his Twitter account to wish legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni. Dhoni celebrates his 36th birthday today and is being showered with wishes all over the social media platforms.

Gautam Gambhir in his tweet congratulated Dhoni on turning a year older and asked the senior cricketer to convey the wishes to his family as well. “The tweet read Happy Birthday @msdhoni Give my regards to the family. God bless”.

Gautam Gambhir was an integral part of the 2011 World Cup winning squad which was led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The duo were the stars of the show in the grand finale against Sri Lanka where India pulled of a scintillating run chase to lift the trophy.

Gautam Gambhir played a matured knock of 97 runs up the order after openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were dismissed cheaply. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s 91 run inning provided complete support to the left-handed batsman as India glided towards victory. Dhoni remained unbeaten until the end and finished the match in his trademark style, with a gigantic six.

Gautam Gambhir’s career has flourished under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and the batsman owes a lot to the man. Meanwhile. MS Dhoni has already received his birthday gift in the form of a series win in the Caribbean. The cricketer had a decent time away from home and was the anchor of the Indian innings in the 3rd One Day International. Dhoni’s 78 run knock came at a time when Indian were in desperate need of runs. The gutsy show by the wicketkeeper saw India put up a respectable total of 251 runs. the Indian bowlers were up to the task and bundled out the West Indies way short of the target.

Skipper Virat Kohli hailed the efforts of MS Dhoni as he came to the team’s rescue for the umpteenth time.India reigned supreme in the West Indies after winning the 5th ODI yesterday. The visitors took the series 3-1 and justified their position as favourites.
