Ghana win T20I series 3-2 after Rwanda strangely concede rain-interrupted match

Rwanda and Ghana locked horns against each other for a five-match T20I series. The series was scheduled to be played across three days with two matches played on August 18 and August 20. The final T20I was however set to be played on August 21st. Gahanga International Cricket Stadium, Rwanda played host for all five matches of the series.
In what comes as a strange move, Rwanda awarded the fourth T20I to Ghana after rain interrupted the match. In the first T20I, Ghana elected to bat first and put a total of 164 on the board. The match turned out to be a thrilling affair as Rwanda triumphed by one wicket and two deliveries remaining. Martin Akayezu (51) and Eric Dusingizimana (34) made crucial contributions with the bat for Rwanda.
Ghana bounced back in the second T20I to level the series. They won the second T20I by two wickets as they chased down the target of 139 with 17 balls to spare. The hosts then regained the lead by registering a massive 57 runs victory. After putting 136 on the board, Rwanda wrapped up the innings of Ghana at just 79 to take their lead to 2-1.
Ghana wins the five-match T20I series against Rwanda
A victory in the fourth T20I would have given Rwanda the series. After electing to bat first, Ghana set the target of 167 runs for the hosts. Rexford Bakum (63) top-scored for the team. Chasing down the total Rwanda was 30-1 when rain interrupted the match. Later, Rwanda informed the officials that they have decided to concede the match with their opponents declared as the winner. This meant that both the teams entered the final T20I with the series leveled.
In the decider, the hosts decided to bat first and put a total of 147 onboard. Ghana chased the total comfortably to clinch the series. Amoluk Singh scored a belligerent unbeaten 80 off 57 deliveries and top-scored for the side to fashion their victory. Skipper Obed Harvey smashed a crucial 46 before getting run out. Rwanda had the chance to give themselves an uppercut however they lost the series. Their call of conceding the fourth T20I resulted in the series getting leveled and heading into the final encounter they lost the game handing over the series to the visitors.
