Glenn Maxwell re-signs with Lancashire for the upcoming season of T20 Blast

Glenn Maxwell, the right-handed all-rounder from Australia is one of the most demanded players in the shorter format across the globe. He recently played for Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League 2019-20. He led his side from the front but his side ended up as the runners-up in that tournament.
Maxwell played for the same team in 2019 T20 Vitality Blast. The right-hander was one of the top formers for Lancashire in the previous edition as he scored 305 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of 150.31 with the help of three sublime fifties. However, his side failed to qualify into semi-finals as they lost a crucial quarter-final.
It looks like the team management was quite impressed with his performances due to which they have included him in their ranks once again for the upcoming edition.

Now, Glenn Maxwell has opened up saying over his experience with Lancashire in the past. The Aussie international said that last summer was the best time he ever had and now he is eagerly waiting for the upcoming edition of the tournament.
Maxwell also added that it was very unfortunate that they failed to move forward from the quarterfinals as they lost a crucial game. But, this time their aim will be to go out and get their hands on the prestigious title. According to the Australian, there is a lot of exciting talent in the dressing room and he is still in contact with many players.
“Last season was one of the best summers of cricket I have ever experienced and I cannot wait to return to Emirates Old Trafford in 2020,” said Maxwell after signing the new contract.
“We were very unfortunate not to progress further after dominating the North Group and I was so impressed with the talent inside the changing room. I’m very confident we can improve on the quarter-final finish of 2019. I have been keeping in touch with the lads ever since I departed in September and I’m already excited to catch up with everyone when I arrive in May,” Glenn Maxwell said as quoted by Outlook India.
After getting the signature of Maxwell, Lancashire’s Director of Cricket, Paul Allott said that he is one of the best players across the globe. And, they have signed him based on his impact as a player in the previous edition of the tournament.
“Glenn is one of the most sought after players in world cricket and to have signed him again after the enormous impact he made last year is hugely significant as we go in search of a second Blast title,” Paul Allott said.
