Prasidh Krishna, the Karnataka fast bowler, got his maiden call-up for the Indian team when he was picked to play the three-match ODI series against Eoin Morgan’s England. The speedster has played three seasons for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson, and other big names from the cricket world.
He was also in impressive form in the latest edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he picked up 14 wickets from six matches. In the meantime, Krishna also drew praises from former Glenn McGrath, the former Australian fast bowler. McGrath, also known as The Pigeon, wished him luck for his upcoming journey for the Men in Blue.
He took to his Instagram and wrote, “Congratulations Prasidh Krishna @skiddyy on being selected for India in the ODI’s against England. Well done mate & good luck #IndvEng #mrfpacefoundation #fbc.”

Back in January 2020 when India were playing Sri Lanka in a T20I series, Virat Kohli praised Krishna for his prowess.
“You’ll have to figure out who are the people that are very similar in their bowling skills, and you pick the senior one. I think one guy will be a surprise package. Someone who can bowl with pace and has bounce,” he said.
“Prasidh Krishna has done well in the domestic arena. It is a great luxury to have this group of bowlers in all formats. Looking at the World Cup, we have enough options,” Kohli added.
In nine first-class, 48 List A and 40 T20s, Krishna has picked up 34, 81 and 33 wickets respectively. The three-match ODI series between India and England starts on Tuesday, March 23. All the three games will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
