Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan are currently plying their trade in the Global T20 Canada 2019. While the former is representing the Brampton Wolves, Shadab is playing for Edmonton Royals. The duo played together in the recently concluded World Cup and now had the chance of playing against each other in the T20 tournament at the CAA Centre at Brampton in Ontario.

The Wolves won the game by 27 runs and moved to the top of the points table. Shahid Afridi’s 40-ball 81 helped the Wolves to glory. Meanwhile, Wahab and Shadab was involved in a friendly moment. In the 15th over of the Royals’ run-chase, Riaz got a chance to bowl at Shadab, who had scored 21 off 13 balls by then. However, he was baffled by a bouncer from the speedster.

The ball viciously kicked off the back-of-a-length and Shadab somehow managed to get out of the line of the delivery. Thereafter, Shadab went up to Wahab, who thought that his national teammate has something to say. The batsman jokingly said that he was looking at the pitch and not Wahab. The southpaw cheekily replied saying that it’s not the pitch and it’s him.

Decent outing for Shadab and Wahab

After the funny incident, Shadab went on to hit Wahab for a boundary through the fine leg region. He eventually scored 27 off 18 after which pacer Zahoor Khan got rid of him in the 16th over. Shadab was also the Royals’ standout bowler with three wickets, including the ones of Lendl Simmons and Colin Munro. Despite his decent spell of bowling, the Wolves piled on 207 in their 20 overs.

Shadab had to face Afridi’s wrath in his spell as well. Wahab was excellent with the ball in hand. He removed from the Royals’ openers- Navneet Dhaliwal and Richie Berrington. He was also frugal, having conceded runs at an economy of six. Riaz was absolutely spot on with his line and length.

Wahab scored a couple of boundaries while batting and helped the Wolves cross the 200-run mark. Both players are excellent performers in the T20 format and would be looking forward to show their prowess going ahead in the T20 league.
