The breach in the bio-secure bubble and the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus among the players and the support staff resulted in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponing the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for an indefinite time. The tournament was halted after hosting 29 matches.

As soon as the T20 extravaganza was suspended and the bubble was dismantled, all the foreign players started making arrangements for their safe travel back to their respective countries. The same was the case with Mumbai Indians’ swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman, Quinton de Kock, as, within a few days of IPL 2021 being suspended, he along with his family boarded the flight back to South Africa.

De Kock joined the Mumbai Indians camp before IPL 2021 along with his wife Sasha Hurly and as the two left the country, Sasha penned a heartfelt parting note. Taking it to her official Instagram handle, Sasha shared some beautiful pictures with the wives and girlfriends of other MI players while she bid adieu to India.

Meanwhile, it was the caption that won the hearts of many netizens. Quinton’s wife expressed her sadness over leaving India soon but hoped that the situation in the country improves. Sasha also revealed that she will be missing all the friends she made while being in the Asian nation.

“Sad to leave so soon, but so awesome to have been back with our MI family. Going to miss all these special ladies. To friendships, old and new. Thoughts are with India and what everyone’s going through, please stay safe. To be continued,” Sasha captioned the post.

Quinton de Kock performed decently in IPL 2021

However, as the tournament proceeded, the opening batsman started to pick up the pace and in six matches, scored 155 runs at an average of 31 and strike rate of 117.42. Coming to Mumbai Indians, they were placed at the fourth spot on the points table with four wins from seven games.
