'Good to see after long time bhabi' - Hasan Ali congratulates Sania Mirza on her winning return to the court

Pakistani fast bowler Hasan Ali may be out of contention from the Men in Green team due to problems with his fitness, but he has maintained a presence on social media. Ali, who last featured in international cricket during his team’s big loss to arch-rivals India in the 2019 World Cup in Manchester. He had picked 1/84 in his quota of 9 overs as Pakistan slumped to an 89-run loss via D/L method.

Since then, he has been out due to severe back issues and missed Pakistan’s home limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and then the tour to Australia. He had then made a return to domestic cricket first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in September 2019 to play for Central Punjab against Southern Punjab picking 3 wickets in two innings. But complained of pain in his left side and was taken for scans. The results revealed that he had fractured his ribs and this meant he further missed the historic home Test series against the Lankans.

Meanwhile, Hasan Ali took to Twitter in order to congratulate Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on her return to the court after being on two years of maternity leave. The 33-year-old tennis champion is married to former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik and is often referred to as ‘Bhabi’ by the Men in Green cricketers. Mirza partnered Ukraine’s Nadiia Kichenok in the Hobart International Tennis tournament on her return.

The former no.1 doubles players Mirza and her partner Nadiia Kichenok defeated their rivals Georgia’s Oksana Kalashnikova and Japan’s Miyu Kato in the doubles by 2-6, 7-6 (7/3), 10-3. Sania Mirza had given birth to son Izhaan in October of 2018 and had last played the game the China Open in October 2017, when injuries and then motherhood took precedence.

She tweeted, “Today was one of the most special days of my life to have my parents and my little baby boy with me in my first match after so long… and we WON our first round. Feel very grateful for the love I am receiving.. BELIEF!! Takes you places YES my baby boy, we did it.”

Quoting this tweet, Hassan Ali congratulated Mirza on her winning return and posted, “Good to see after long time bhabi, and congratulation for first won 👏👏👏 #BELIFE @MirzaSania”
