Government will take care of Umran Malik's training, other facilities: J&K Lt Governor

Young bowling sensation from Jammu and Kashmir, Umran Malik, has stunned everyone with his amazing outings in IPL 2022 as he has scalped 22 wickets in 14 games while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. For his heroics with the ball and his capability to bowl consistently at the speed of 150+ kph, he has got a call to the Indian national team for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, met Umran at his residence in Jammu and congratulated him on his stellar performance in the 15th edition of the IPL. LG Sinha also said that the training and other facilities for Umran will be taken care of by the government.

“The whole country is proud (of Umran). The government will take care of his training and other facilities,” LG said to the reporters who were present there in front of Umran’s house. On a question about a government job for Umran, LG Manoj Sinha replied to the reporters: “There is a provision in the sports policy, and whenever he wishes the government will provide him this opportunity.”

To note, Umran Malik made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 when he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He could appear only in three matches for SRH last season in which he scalped only two wickets. Later on, before the mega auction of IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained the young pacer for an amount of INR 4 crore alongside skipper Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad.

In this season, he has amazed and impressed everyone with his fiery pace and consistent bowling at accuracy. Meanwhile, fans and former cricketers have given the credit for Umran’s success to former all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who has played an important role in polishing the young lad’s talent.
