IND vs SA: David Miller wants GT teammates Rahul Tewatia, Shubman Gill in India's T20I squad

South African and Gujarat Titans (GT) batter David Miller is looking forward to the South Africa tour of India and has emphasized the fact that he wants his franchise teammate Rahul Tewatia and Shubman Gill in the Indian squad. The left-handed batter also wants India’s newest pacer sensation, Umran Malik, in the home team. Currently, Miller is with the new entrants GT and is expected to fire all cylinders in the playoff stage.

Meanwhile, a total of five T20I matches will be played in the series, with the first match to be played in New Delhi on June 9, followed by encounters in Cuttack (June 12), Visakhapatnam (June 14), Rajkot (June 17), and the final match in Bengaluru on June 19 (Sunday). To note, Cricket South Africa (CSA) had recently announced their 16-member squad for the tour.

The Proteas side will be under the leadership of Temba Bavuma and this series will mark the team’s first T20I assignment since the 2021 T20 World Cup and they would like to put up a good fight against the Men in Blue. The Proteas side has announced a strong-looking side with Tristan Stubbs receiving his maiden national call-up. Apart from that, veteran pacer Wayne Parnell has received his maiden T20I call-up since 2017. Apart from that, Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Rassie van der Dussen, and Marco Jansen have also been named in the squad.

Meanwhile, David Miller will be itching to perform in Qualifier one of the IPL 2022. To note, the new entrants GT are the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the 15th edition of IPL and they will face the second team to finish 0n the points table after the group stage is completed.

Qualifier 1 will take place at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata on May 24 and the final match of IPL 2022 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 29 ( Sunday).
