Defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) beat 2016 winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a margin of 34 runs in the only league meeting of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL)
In their first season itself, the Titans went all the way to lift the IPL title under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. After 14 matches in the league stage, GT topped the table with ten wins and 20 points. In Qualifier one, they defeated Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and then again beat the same side in the summit clash in Ahmedabad.
On the other hand, the orange army endured a second straight bad season last year as they finished in the eighth position like they did in 2021. This year seemed no different as they became the second side after Delhi Capitals (DC) to get eliminated from IPL 2023 after their loss at the hands of GT in Ahmedabad.
