Gujarat Lions announces Oxigen services as the title sponsors for IPL 9

Intex Technologies, which owns IPL franchise Gujarat Lions, has announced its title sponsors for the 9th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Oxigen Services, the leading digital payment solutions company, will be the ‘Title Sponsor’ for the new IPL team.

Commenting on their new association, Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal said, “We are very happy to have a leading brand like Oxigen to be associated with Gujarat Lions as the title sponsor. Considering the synergy between the two leading brands in consumer technology space, it is indeed a value addition to the Gujarat Lions.”

“Integrating Gujarat Lions with our parent brand, Intex will help in cross-leveraging the strengths and create a strong brand recall amongst consumers.” he added.

Oxigen has announced a budget of Rs. 100 crores for sports marketing activities for the current fiscal year. Oxigen has been associated with various sports apart from cricket. Working on the sports-focused marketing strategy, they are associated with Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters Team, they are also involved in ‘Hockey India League’ and have also hosted a cricket tournament between the specially-abled teams of India and Sri Lanka.

Ankur Saxena , Director and Chief Mentor of Oxigen Wallet, also expressed his views on the new development.

The Gujarat team is led by Suresh Raina and has the likes of Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Smith, Dale Steyn, Aaron Finch and many other local and foreign talents in their roster. Former Australia hard hitter Brad Hodge is the head Coach of the team.
