Only a few days after indirectly claiming that he doesn’t enjoy the same privileges as MS Dhoni, former Indian offie Harbhajan Singh has called the former India captain a ‘Champion’. Harbhajan was referring to Dhoni being named in the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy despite his poor form in the IPL. Harbhajan suggested that if it was experience for which Dhoni was selected in the tournament, he too was a senior player and brought a lot more to the table than just his bowling or batting but was still left out.
However, in a Question and Answer session conducted by the ICC on Twitter, when a fan asked Harbhajan to describe MS Dhoni in one word, the Mumbai Indians bowler, who is also India’s ambassador for the Champions Trophy 2017, called Dhoni a ‘Champion.’ “I would like to describe MS Dhoni in one word Champion,” said Bhajji. Dhoni did not get to bat in the game against Pakistan as Hardik Pandya was promoted up the order and sent in place of Dhoni.

Bhajji picks semi-finalists
Another question answered by Harbhajan was on which teams does he think can qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. “My semifinalists would be India, England, Australia and South Africa. I think these are the top 4 sides. I am not taking anything away from New Zealand and Pakistan but I think these are the four teams that will go forward in the tournament,” he answered.

The third question that the elite and veteran spinner answered was related to his own trade. A fan asked him to pick his favourite spinner in the on-going tournament and Bhajji was quick to single out Imran Tahir, later also adding that he enjoys India’s Ashwin and Jadeja’s spin as much.
“My favorite spinner in this tournament is Imran Tahir. I think he will be taking more number of wickets than any other spinner. But I do like to see R. Ashwin also playing the game and Jadeja also doing well for India. So these are the three guys I am backing,” concluded Harbhajan.
