The Indian team has lived up to the expectations of the fans so far in the tournament. They have qualified for the semi-finals by beating one of the tournament favourites South Africa in a convincing manner. The all round team performance both with the bat and the ball would have pleased the Indian captain Virat Kohli after a dismal bowling performance against Sri Lanka on Thursday.

Harbhajan takes a swing

The current members of the Indian team aren’t the only ones making waves. India off-spinner and currently the Indian Ambassador at the Champions Trophy Harbhajan Singh blasted the media house Zee News after its sports section revealed that former India opener Virender Sehwag had taken him to the cleaners hitting him for twelve sixes in a domestic match, at Rohtak in Haryana, albeit while running a fever.

He tweeted quoting their post and wrote- “Kuch bi.. ur networks name should be zeefaltunews.” With which he tried to suggest that Zee should rename the network as Zee rubbish news.

They had claimed that the news was given by Ravichandran Ashwin while being a part of What the Duck show where he spoke to their correspondent Vikram Sathaye. He [Virender Sehwag] gave me a very interesting story. He said he had fever in a game at Rohtak. And smashed Harbhajan for 12 sixes. You know Harbhajan is a good off spinner,Ashwin revealed during the interview.

He stated that Sehwag was running a high fever and that he first hit two sixes before retiring hurt and then came back later at No.10 to smoke ten more, that too while the ball was spinning. “Every ball because it was spinning. He [Sehwag] said that he hit him even from outside the pitch. Outside off stump and hit him for a six on the leg side,” Ashwin reportedly said.
