Veteran Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently spoke in the favor of his Indian teammate and close friend Yuvraj Singh. The topic of discussion came to the fore after Yuvraj was ignored during the selection of the Indian team for the upcoming limited overs series against Sri Lanka. Team India is scheduled to play 5 ODIs and a T20I during the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka. They have already won the Test series with a handsome 3-0 whitewash.

The BCCI had recently announced the 15 man Indian team for the limited overs assignment. Among the surprise exclusions from the setup, two names were the prominent ones. Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina were the unlucky ones to have missed out on the tour bus.

While Yuvraj is yet to make a comment on his exclusion from the side, his national side teammate Harbhajan Singh certainly had some words of praise for him. Harbhajan, as per the recent social media update of the India Today Twitter handle, noted that the country might produce endless number of cricketers. But there will never be a cricketer in the same league as Yuvraj Singh.

“No matter how many big players India produce, there will be no other Yuvraj Singh,” Harbhajan Singh quoted as per the social media update of the India Today.

The camaraderie that Harbhajan and Yuvraj share has a long history. Both players had made their international debuts back in the early 2000s. Prior to that, they have played the U19 level cricket together. They have been knowing each other very well and represent the Punjab team in the domestic circuit. Needless to concede why Harbhajan Singh made such a big statement on Yuvraj.

Yuvraj Singh had made a comeback to the national side earlier this year in the ODI series against England. He had hit his maiden 150 in that series. However, he had a very mild outing in the ICC Champions Trophy with no major scores to boast about.
