Hardik Pandya becomes the butt of all jokes on Twitter for his poor show in South Africa

When the India’s tour of South Africa was about to get underway, all-rounder Hardik Pandya was asked about India’s chances on the tour. The flamboyant lad was quick to cite that he could be the difference for the Indian team this time around. India’s track record on the Proteas soil was poor. And the claims of Pandya came as a big ray of hope for the Indian fans.

Well, when the first Test went underway, these claims looked to be taking the right shape. Hardik Pandya was the top scorer for the team in the Cape Town Test. Also, he was very effective with the ball in the game. The Baroda all-rounder had become an overnight messiah for the Indian team. But ever since that knock in Cape Town, Pandya has failed to deliver the goods for the side.

A string of poor shot selection saw his fetch low scores in the Test series. Later, when the ODIs began, many believed that a newer version of Hardik Pandya will be on show. Much to the disappointment of all faith-keepers, Pandya failed to cross the 20-run mark in any of the ODIs. Furthermore, he emerged to be the weaklink in the India’s bowling during the series.

The T20Is began and the first outing for Pandya was not great either. He leaked 45 runs in his spell of four overs. Pandya will hope to finish the tour on a high now with only two more matches to go. For now, he has only become a butt of all jokes on the social media.

The fans have been absolutely savage in their critique of the all-rounder. Many have mocked him being called as the next Kapil Dev. Some have taken personal digs at Pandya making jokes on the hair color that he has sported during the tour. The jokes are certainly tickling the funny bones of many.
