Hardik Pandya off to Chennai with skipper Virat Kohli

First ODI between India and Australia will be played on Sunday in Chennai.

Indian dashing all-rounder Hardik Pandya has posted a picture on social media with his skipper Virat Kohli on their way to Chennai. India is all set to lock horns with Australia in the 5-match ODI series which will be followed by three T20 Internationals. The first ODI will be played at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The visitors played their only warm-up game ahead of the series on the same ground on Tuesday.

The Australia series marks the beginning of the busy home season for the Men in Blue as they are set to host New Zealand and Sri Lanka post the limited overs tussle against the Kangaroos. The Black Caps will play 3 ODIs and as many T20Is on their tour to India whereas Sri Lanka will travel to play the return series across formats. Team India will play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka until December 23.

Pandya excited for the series

Hardik Pandya made his international debut in a T20I series against Australia in Adelaide and has special memories of that series. India had whitewashed the home side and became the first team to do so. The 23-year-old is excited about the series and expressed his delight on social media website Twitter on his way to Chennai ahead of the series. He posted a picture with his captain Virat Kohli and wrote a message for his followers which read, “Off to Chennai! Really excited for the series! With the skipper himself @imVkohli.”

Hardik Pandya is the seam bowling all-rounder which India searched for years and is a regular member of the team across formats. He is being groomed for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup which will be played in England. The youngster though hasn’t disappointed so far and has performed decently with both bat and ball. He would like to perform extremely well against the Australian side with whom he started his international career.
