After making a comeback in the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Indian fans have more things to cheer. Their favourite commentator Harsha Bhogle is set to return to cricket. Yes, you heard it right, the favourite voice of cricket fans is all set to return during this year’s Indian Premier League.

Harsha was fired because of a tweet from a Bollywood superstar, a retweet from the former Indian captain and some complaints from the Indian players. However, there have been a lot of changes in the BCCI office and the people that were against the famous commentator have all gone.

That said, according to Bangalore Mirror, Harsha has been offered a role of a host. He will be using his analytical skills and his cricketing knowledge from the studios. As there is a shortage of the Pundits for the upcoming Indian Premier League due to the growing tensions between India and Pakistan.

There will be no Ramiz Raja or Shoaib Akhtar or Waqar Younis for this year’s IPL. This is why the BCCI and IPL management are short of commentators. Harsha wants to work as a commentator but he is for now only being offered a studio role which is not what he wants.

Even though he will be able to commentate Hindi, which is apparently done from the studio. The broadcasters Sony seemed to have offered him a role and the BCCI has no problem with it. Last year Harsha was not asked to cover the IPL and he tweeted his disappointment. He said that it would have been wonderful to be a part of his favourite tournament and wished it all the success.

The tweet read, “Would have been nice to be part of @IPL again. Was, in fact, looking forward to it. Favourite tournament. Hope #IPL9 is a blockbuster.” It looks like he won’t miss the tenth edition of this cash-rich league. However, Sony and Bhogle have refused to comment on the matter.
