Hasan Ali is currently ranked number 1 in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers and rightly so, after his jaw-dropping performances to rattle oppositions. In a very short period, he has developed himself into a spearhead of the Pakistan bowling attack. In the second match of the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka, Hasan Ali went on to become the fastest Pakistani bowler to claim 50 wickets. He achieved the feat in 24 games, surpassing the legendary Waqar Younis who achieved the feat in 27 games.

Nevertheless, despite playing cricket at the international level, he was back to playing with his childhood friends in Pakistan. He played a match with them at the Mandi Bahuddin Cricket Stadium. Quite expectantly, his friends were elated to see him. “We are really happy. A childhood friend of ours after becoming an international cricketer has come back to play with us,” one of Hasan Ali’s friends said.

There were several people who were present at the ground to see their national hero play the game. Ali played a couple of quick-fire cameos with the bat in international cricket. He demonstrated the same on the field during the match with his friends. Even after losing his wicket, the Pakistani pacer decided to stay on the field and didn’t return to the pavilion, which shows his commitment towards the game.

A bright future ahead

During his childhood days, Hassan Ali first played cricket in his hometown- Ladhay Wala Wraich near Gujranwala and hasn’t looked back since. It’s been a short career till date for Ali, but the 23-year old youngster has made tremendous progress in his cricketing career. With loads of talent and skills in his repertoire, he is speculated to have a bright future in the offing for Pakistan in all forms of the sport.
